Gerald Ihedilionye

Gerald Ihedilionye is a Reservoir Engineer and Data Scientist with credible professional work experience in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry, spanning across Reservoir Engineering, Well Management and Engineering Software Development domains.
He is a multi-award winning scholar and holds a Bachelor’s Degree (First Class Honours) in Petroleum Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He is currently undertaking his MSc program in Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College, London, United Kingdom, under full sponsorship from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund. His program focuses on the application of data science and machine learning in subsurface geoscience and engineering.
Gerald is also the co-founder of Excel for Energy Professionals, an online learning community of Microsoft Excel enthusiasts, students and professionals alike, in the energy industry. He has facilitated Microsoft Excel learning sessions on automation and data analysis, locally and internationally, and has taught courses for energy professionals in national conferences of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigerian Council, and postgraduate students in two Nigerian universities.
Outside work and academics, Gerald loves to volunteer, mentor and travel. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPEI) and a Fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Emerging Leaders Program.
