Course Overview: Project management and business analysis are two disciplines that are becoming more strategic for companies in the energy industry. While Project management focuses on the creation of the “product, service, or result” of the project in order to meet its objectives, business analysis aims at understanding the needs of the business, the cost involved, the market, the stakeholders and defining the characteristics of the solution to meeting those needs. The integration of these two disciplines can propel the energy industry towards achieving best project performance, in achieving project objectives and creating business value. Engineer Christopher Anierobi Egwuatu, (FNSE, FNSChE), SPE, MNIFEngM is a seasoned and award-winning multidisciplinary Engineer with over 20 years of experience in the Energy industry of which the majority are multi-billion-dollar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts/projects delivery. A Project Engineering Leadership and Management Professional on the NLNG T7 Project – LNG Jetty 3 and Non-Passenger Jetty Works being executed by the marine projects giant, China Harbour Engineering Company (Nigeria) Limited (CHEC) for Saipem Chiyoda Daewoo JV (SCDJV), he has delivered remarkable business value and fit for purpose projects through balancing competing demands of project scope, budget and schedule without compromising quality outcomes, zero tolerance, fitness for duty and the environment. A Distinguished Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) respectively. He completed his registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in 2009 and is also a member of other professional affiliations including the Nigerian Institution of Facilities Engineering and Management (NIFEngM), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Institution of Chemical Engineers UK (IChemE), Society of Petroleum Engineers International (SPE), Society of Energy Administrators (SEA), among others.  He is currently concluding his Chartered Engineer (Ceng) registration with the Engineering Council (EC), United Kingdom. Engr. Chris is the Coordinator of, the Petroleum Upstream Sectoral Group of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE) and the Deputy National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Facilities Engineering and Management (NIFEngM). He is an IRCA Certified QMS ISO 9001 & OHSMS ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, AspenTech Certified HYSYS Design Engineer, NEBOSH Certified OH&S Management Professional, NLNG Certified PTW Holder, ASNT Certified NDT Level II Inspector and Chevron Certified Fire Watch, etc. Engr. Chris is affiliated with SPE Section 104, Warri Nigeria Section where he had served in multiple capacities across the section board and the Nigerian council demonstrating volunteerism, dedication and commitment to selfless service. He received the prestigious SPE Regional Projects, Facilities and Construction Award – Africa Region in 2022 and SPE Regional Health, Safety and Environment Award – Africa Region in 2019 respectively. Engr. Chris is a versatile and vibrant Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) trained Chemical Engineer, who graduated in 2001 with Second class honours upper division and completed his M.Eng Chemical Engineering at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) with a research focus on corrosion inhibition synthesis of nanoparticles from plant extract. He had previously earned two (2) master’s degrees in Information Technology with a major in intrusion detection systems and design and Business Administration with a specialization in entrepreneurship and start-ups from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in 2012 and Delta State University (DELSU) in 2014 respectively.   His professional experience centred on viz: codes, standards and certifications, industry best practices and total quality management, management system audits, floating production storage and offloading vessels, topping plants, storage tanks, marginal fields, project development and construction management, skill gap analysis and capacity building, small-scale enterprise development and business process management. Engr. Egwuatu, is a team builder, a self-motivator, and a silent achiever and enjoys engaging himself in multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research, attending conferences both locally and internationally, making presentations, consulting, developing process improvement and lean implementation strategies across broad endeavours, playing scrabbles, travelling and spending quality time with his family.
